FAQs

how often should my dog be groomed?

1

Most breeds benefit from grooming every 6-8 weeks. However longer haired breeds and Doodles may benefit from more frequent sessions. Also, if your pup is a fan of Teignmouth beach walks or the rolling hills of Chudleigh, they may need more frequent maintenance due to salty coats and muddy paws.

How much does a groom cost?

2

This depends on a few factors, including breed, coat-type, size of dog, and how often they are groomed. On the homepage you will see the packages I offer, however if your dog has a specific need, please do get in touch and we can make a groom plan to suit.

do you groom nervous dogs?

3

Yes, absolutely. Every dog deserves to be happy and comfortable in their fur. If your dog is nervous or has had past grooming trauma, please let me know at the point of booking and we can make a plan to suit their groom needs.

do you offer
de-matting?

4

De-matting is the process of brushing out matted fur to retain the length of the coat. A matted coat isn’t just a bit of knotting, it’s where the fur has knotted so tightly it matts tight against the skin. Trying to brush this out can cause pain to your dog, and the process can be hugely time consuming which can be uncomfortable for them too. In situations like this, my recommendation is to ‘reset’ the coat with a short clip-off, plan a structured grooming routine with you, and look to grow the coat back to its full length from there.

when, and how, do i pay?

5

Payment is taken when you come to collect your dog at the end of the session. I can accept both cash and card payments.
On occasion I may ask for a deposit at the point of booking. This tends to be for longer sessions, such as extra large dogs, longer hand-stripping sessions etc. The deposit will be deducted from the final payment at the end of the session.

how do i book?

6

The easiest way to book an appointment is by text or WhatsApp on 07706242529. This way, if I am grooming, I can pick up your details later and get back to you with my diary to hand.
If preferred, I can also manage bookings via my Facebook page, or via email BoopYourDog@gmail.com
If you would prefer to chat to me about your dogs needs, send me a message and I can call you at a convenient time.
